One Tribe TV is a factual television production company with offices in Bath and Cardiff. Run by award-winning programme makers, Managing Director, Dale Templar and Creative Director, Owen Gay, it provides a hands-on and highly personal service to all its clients.
One Tribe TV is currently in production with a Channel 4 access series, a BBC Scotland bio-doc, as well as a BBC Wales Natural History series, and continues to be a proud supplier of films to BBC1’s The ONE Show. Other recent productions include BBC1’s Our Lives: Our Island Home and Glastonbury: Get-Away With The Fairies, BBC1 Wales’ Dirty Vegan series 1 & 2 and Wild Man to Ironman, BBC1’s The Truth About: Antibiotics, RTS West nominated BBC1 West & BBC4’s Civilisations Stories: The Remains of Slavery, a second series of the double BAFTA Cymru-nominated Extreme Wales for BBC1 Wales and BBC2 and the 1 X 60’ Richard Parks on Everest for BBC2. We have also made our first Welsh language content for S4C’s Hansh.
In addition to our core team, One Tribe has the flexibility to build bespoke production teams to match the needs of the broadcaster and the production. Wales and the West Country has a world-class pool of top broadcasting professionals covering all aspects of production, whilst we also attract talent from London and further afield.
Dale and Owen were both senior producers at the BBC for more 20 years and have also worked for range of top independent production companies including: Betty, Icon Films, Nutopia and Boundless.
Dale Templar is probably the country’s most experienced producer of expedition, adventure and remote foreign filming for documentary, popular factual and factual entertainment programmes. She is also known for producing first-class specialist factual content, particularly natural history and science series. She’s used to running large teams and complex multi-camera set-ups.
Owen Gay has hundreds of hours of popular and specialist factual shows and series under his belt including many high volume, fast turn-around popular factual series for both the UK and American broadcasters. He is a hands-on creative who works in detail on every stage of a production. Before leaving the BBC he was the Commissioning Editor for The One Show, then Head of Popular Factual at Icon Films in Bristol.
Together the One Tribe TV senior management team has worked with some of the most famous names in British television, making prime-time factual programmes for BBC1, BBC2, BBC4, ITV, Channel 4, Five and international broadcasters including Netflix, Nat Geo, Animal Planet, Discovery and in China, CCTV and TenCent.
We have just opened our new offices at The Maltings in Splott for the second time. Here our production team is working a new returning show for BBC1 Wales. We are pleased to have fluent Welsh speakers in the team.
