A Kingdom in Chaos is a history documentary series exploring England’s bloody Civil War, the execution of Charles I, and the eventual restoration of the monarchy.

 

Through cinematic drama reconstructions and expert analysis, the series follows the rise and fall of the monarchy, the emergence of a republic under Oliver Cromwell, and the return of the Crown, while examining how these seismic events reshaped Britain and influenced political thought across Europe. The series also asks what the legacy of this revolutionary era means for the monarchy today.
